The Fun and Games Golf Official Tournament Cup was founded in the summer of 2005 by Matt Colman and Ed Salter. What had originally been planned as just an ordinary game of pitch and putt on Rickmansworth golf course turned into a prestigious cup affair.

The emphasis of this cup tournament is that you can be absolutely shite at golf and yet still play without having to care or bring any embarrassment upon yourself. This is clearly demonstrated in each cup fixture as both players regularly take an average of 4-7 shots on a par 3 golf course that honestly, your Nan could complete at 2 under par.

The introduction of comments and gestures to the game in the third cup fixture added a whole new side to the match. Players could now celebrate their amazing shots with Napoleon Dynamite fist clenches and Stewie Griffin crowd noises. These celebrations don’t occur very often, but when they do, you can tell the players feel a real sense of achievement.

The addition of the Groundhog Day comment to the game which can be used at any time during play was a wise decision. It has caused players to slice or hook the ball into the trees on numerous occasions.

Both players have also experienced the excitement and death defying adrenaline rush from trying to play one or more rounds of golf without paying.
